Randi Solin uses glass like a contemporary abstract expressionist painter. She has been working in glass for over 30 years. Her work has been collected, shown, and exhibited throughout the world, including the permanent collection at The White House, nine U.S. Embassies, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Solin earned a B.F.A. from the New York College of Ceramics at Alfred University, New York, and established her first glass studios in Northern California.
She has worked in Southern Vermont since 1998.

She creates original blown glass sculptures for galleries, art consultants, interior design trade, public and private collections, and art collectors. Randi creates her signature glass artwork in her glassblowing arena at Fire Arts Vermont, located on the West River in Brattleboro, Vermont.

"Owning Randi’s work has kept my love of glass alive.
When I ran into Randi’s work I fell in love again, it’s really fueled
my love of collecting glass" - Robyn Stump, Collector

“My optics serve as the window into my coloration process; into the ‘soul’ of a piece, allowing the viewer to peer into its interior life, like the rings of a tree. All of my pieces are intellectually created on that notion, that with each finished work a history is revealed.”
- Randi Solin

My work delves into the intricate beauty of glass as both a medium and a window into deeper meaning. Through a complex coloration process, I layer powdered glass, glass cane, frit, shards, and fine silver foil, gold and silver leaf  to create pieces that are visually rich. The thickness of the glass becomes a lens, inviting the viewer to peer into its depths and discover the layers within.

Each piece I create is rooted in the belief that art carries a history—a story revealed through its layers. By building up the glass in such a deliberate way, I explore the notion of time, memory, and transformation. The optics of the glass allow this history to unfold, revealing the 'soul' of the work in its final form.

"In the 90’s when Dale Chihuley became popular we went to one of his exhibits and I mentioned to my wife that I really wanted to start collecting glass, so I looked around at what was available and I didn’t find anything intriguing, it looked like everyone was copying his work. Then I went to a show in New Jersey and met Randi Solin,
and I fell in love with the Sahara Flat, which totally intrigued me.

Since then I’ve collected 9 of her pieces. I love supporting Randi’s work
because she’s such a kind and loving individual, and I know it makes a difference."

"I just knew her work was for me, it's kind of like, if you’re a home buyer and you walk into a few houses and you go, “eh” and then you finally walk into a house and go “I can see myself here” its like that, you just know its for you when you see her pieces.

It's hard to pick a favorite piece, they’re like children, you just love them all."
